Resonant Voices: Activist Art in Africa

Featuring the diverse perspectives and impassioned voices of 19 artists in Kenya -  Ian Ndambuki, Nina Kimani, Chesta Nyamosi, Paula Nyandat, Moses Kamau, Ian Banja, Joseph Makau, Joan Muema, Nelson Ijakaa, Victor Munga, Staice Shitanda, Charles Waweru, Taabu Munyoki, Muchira Muraguri, Margaret Ngigi, Baraka Joseph, Alpha Odhiambo, Churchil Ongere - this show seeks to ignite conversations, challenge perceptions, and ultimately drive positive societal transformation.


The exhibition aims to convey the powerful and vocal nature of activist art, highlighting its significant role as a catalyst for social change. Through various mediums and artistic expressions, these artists delve into pressing social issues, shedding light on injustices, advocating for marginalized communities, and amplifying voices that are often unheard. From thought-provoking visual narratives to immersive installations, each artwork serves as a poignant reminder of the artist's commitment to activism and their dedication to sparking meaningful dialogue and inspiring action.
