Nyumbani Children's Home

Nairobi, Kenya

Founded in 1992 by Father Angelo D’Agostino, the Nyumbani Children's Home provides care for HIV-positive children, offering a nurturing environment for ages 0-18. Originally a hospice, it has since expanded into a vibrant community with essential facilities like community Nyumbani Kitui Village, Lawson Secondary School, cottages, a medical clinic, a youth center, and a farm, creating a supportive space where children thrive. Nyumbani has seen over 100 alumni successfully graduate from its programmes.

Sister Julia from the U.S. launched an art club at Nyumbani, hosting weekly workshops with artists such as Samwel Kariuki. Nyumbani Children's Home has participated in the MASK Awards since 2013, winning numerous prizes and performing at the MASK Award Ceremonies.
