How to write artist CV & exhibition history

Tips for writing a CV:


  • Use your preferred artist name and make sure it is consistent across all documents.


  • State your date and place of birth, as well as where you currently live.


  • Include your educational background, as well as any courses or training you have undertaken.


  • Include any awards/commendations/nominations.


  • Make sure your contact details are clearly stated.



Tips for writing an exhibition history:


  • For each exhibition, make sure to include: the full title, the name of the gallery/venue, the geographical location (city and country), and the year it took place.


  • Organise your exhibitions chronologically, starting with the most recent.


  • Separate solo and group exhibitions into different lists.


  • You can include a section of ‘Upcoming’ or ‘Scheduled’ exhibitions if you have any.


  • You can also add creative projects/collaborations/commissions.
